After just making an appearance on Saturday Night Live, it seems the internet celebrity isn’t done with NYC just yet. According to an exclusive just published by People, Trisha Paytas is set to star in her own production called Trisha Paytas’ Big Broadway Dream.
The performance will debut for one night only in New York City’s St. James Theater on Monday, February 3rd.
According to the exclusive, the idea for the production came about as an April Fool’s joke, sparking unanticipated fan interest. The excitement was so grand that it apparently caught the eye of producers who eventually offered the opportunity to Paytas legitimately.
Though Paytas has never participated in a production at this scale—more so just in her own recreations shared online—she’s confident her passion and somewhat ‘delusion’ was enough to achieve a role in theater.
To prepare for the “bigger than life” production, Paytas will even be taking vocal lessons. She expressed her excitement for her husband and daughter to watch her on the Broadway stage, telling People that “Maybe one day [her daughter Malibu will] think what [she’s] doing is cool…if anything, I just want to show her — and everybody, like, anyone can do anything they want, whether you have talent connections or none at all,” she said. “You can make it happen somehow.”
Tickets will be available on TrishaOnBroadway.com starting Friday, December 13th at 10am.
