As cool, calm, and collected New Yorkers we would never bother a celebrity when we see them out and about in the wild–especially when they’re eating. But whether it be Billie Eilish’s favorite NYC vegan restaurants, Michael Imperioli’s favorite NYC Italian restaurants, Action Bronson’s favorite NYC restaurants, or Timothee Chalamet’s favorite NYC eats, we do get a bit nosy when it comes to know which spots celebs love to grab a bite at in NYC.
In an interview with the Infatuation, Tom Holland dished on some of his favorite NYC restaurants, saying, “I love New York especially, [there’s] great dining in New York.” So if you’re looking to dine like Holland, or simply just want a new local spot to try, here’s where you should go:
MAMO, SoHo
MAMO restaurant is an Italian restaurant born in the heart of SoHo. Serving up a “modern twist on Italian nostalgia,” MAMO offers dishes like Artichokes alla Giudia, Octopus and Chickpea Salad, Halibut in foil with Puttanesca Sauce, and Roast Chicken with Seasonal Vegetables.
Holland’s favorite dish however is the “unreal” white truffle pizza, which he claims is “out of this world.” And he’s not the only one who loves this place–Drake was spotted here three nights in a row during his “It’s All A Blur” tour.
📍 323 W Broadway
Tamarind, Tribeca
“Tamarind is a fantastic Indian restaurant which I love,” says Holland–and it’s one of our favorite Indian restaurants too! This Michelin-starred spot serves traditional Indian cuisine with an upscale, contemporary twist.
Not sure what to get? They’re famous for their mouthwatering Lobster Marsala which features shiitake mushrooms, chopped onions, garlic, and white wine reduction, and they also have some delicious tandoor specialties.
📍 99 Hudson St.
Il Buco, NoHo
In our opinion, Il Buco is one of the most romantic restaurants in NYC, and it’s also one of Holland’s favorites. This dreamy, antique space, nestled on NoHo’s cobblestoned Bond Street, makes you feel like you’re dining inside an Italian home with the home cooking to match!
Il Buco is well known for their seasonal risottos and pastas including their tagliatelle and house-made egg pasta with Perigord black truffle parmigiano.
📍 47 Bond St.
Hawksmoor, Gramercy
For all-natural beef, east coast seafood, and small farm produce, Hawksmoor is your place, and Holland goes here a lot, nothing that he “love[s] this place for the food and for the atmosphere.”
The award-winning steakhouse and cocktail bar is known for its charcoal grilled, dry-aged steak, featuring everything from Rib-eye and Strip to Rump and Porterhouse. Other dishes include Fried Louisiana Shrimp, Roasted Bone Marrow, Halibut, Half or Whole Maine lobster, and Ricotta Dumplings.
📍 109 E 22nd St.
This last one isn’t a restaurant, but if you’re looking to dig into Holland’s favorite U.S. food you’re going to have to fire up the grill–Holland stated, “I’d say having spent a lot of time in Atlanta a good American barbecue is unmatched and I think the vibe is always really good, there’s always sport on.” After all, he says “Eating and drinking for me is really just where I do most of my socializing.” Same, Tom, same.
