The Titanic might be one of the most obsessed over pop culture moments of all time. There have been exhibits and installations, but this Long Island City bar bathroom takes the cake!
The Baroness in Long Island City is an eclectic eatery that offers a range of dishes named after pop culture icons like Whitney Houston, Adele, and Mariah Carey. There’s even the Celine, a tempura-fried ahi tuna fillet served on a potato roll, or the “Toula: my big fat Greek chicken sandwich,” which is a tribute to the protagonist in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”
This epicness continues all the way into The Baroness’ bathroom, which is an over-the-top shrine to Titanic. Not the actual ship that tragically crashed into an iceberg and sank in 1912. The bathroom is overwhelmingly dedicated to James Cameron’s 1997 historical drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
The lavatory has a mural of Rose, Jack… and Celine Dion singing in between them. There’s also a television playing the film on a loop in case you need a break from the libations.
