If you weren’t perusing Timothée Chalamet’s social media account on Thursday evening, you might’ve missed out.
The A Complete Unknown actor decided to drum up excitement for his new film, Marty Supreme, in a very cool and casual way: by asking New Yorkers via Instagram Stories to meet him at the movies in Times Square.
Nothing like an impromptu invitation from Mr. Chalamet to make your Thursday night a little livelier! Considering he showed up to his own lookalike contest in Washington Square Park last year, this move should come as no surprise.
The Timothée Chalamet Marty Supreme sneak peek invite
Pivoting from music, Chalamet is now taking on the role of Marty Reisman, famed ping pong champion who took home the 1958 and 1960 U.S. Men’s singles champion (You might recall having seen him on the movie set on the Lower East Side last year.)
The film is set to hit theaters in December, but our guy sent out an Instagram Story urging fans to make a pitstop to the Times Square Regal at 9pm tonight, October 9th.
“Show up here. 9pm. I’ll show you first 30 minutes of Marty Supreme,” his Instagram Story read. It was spelled out in orange on a map highlighting the theater. “First come first served,” a second story read.

Well, we knew Timmy was back in his hometown — considering he just took girlfriend Kylie Jenner to the Yankees playoff game on Wednesday night — so we couldn’t help but wonder: IS HE GOING TO INVITE US AGAIN?!
Thursday was certainly not a time to be off your game, but if you were, we highly suggest following Timmy’s Instagram page with a watchful eye. Who knows what he has in store for the remainder of his stay in his hometown! Fingers crossed he’s thinking about another random screening this weekend. Let’s manifest it, shall we?
If you didn’t catch a glimpse of the film in Midtown, heads up that it hits theaters on Christmas Day 2025.
