Tiffany & Co. Moved The Fifth Ave Flagship Store Overnight

The new spot has Tiffany Blue escalators and a giant blue Empire State Building!

Tiffany & Co. just moved its iconic flagship store on Fifth Avenue—but don’t worry, it’s only temporary. And it’s right next door! The flagship store (at 727 Fifth Avenue) where Audrey Hepburn famously munched on a morning croissant will be a construction zone until late 2021, as it undergoes a massive renovation.

Located at 6 East 57th Street, the new temporary space is called “The Tiffany Flagship Next Door.”

A press release detailing the announcement says the new space “feels familiar, yet refreshed.”

The store is designed around a vaulted, escalator-flanked atrium and retains a playful, fun look with a modernized attitude. Combining naïve materials like concrete and stainless steel with amazing nickel and Art Deco cases inspired by the original store.

Thought you’d never see the Empire State Building in Tiffany Blue? Well think again, because you can now catch a photo op in front of the giant structure (plus a light-up version of the skyline and Tiffany Blue escalators) in the new store space.

The company announced its plans to completely transform the flagship store in August of 2018, but it seems no one quite knew the temporary store was going to pop up yesterday (Monday, January 13). Part of the reason was security, as the New York Times reported they had to move 114,000 gems worth millions of dollars practically overnight.

According to the press release, the temporary store will still offer: the high jewelry and iconic collections including Tiffany T, Tiffany Paper Flowers®, Tiffany Victoria®, Tiffany Keys, and Tiffany HardWear on the main floor, The Tiffany Men’s Collections on the second floor, love and engagement on the third, and Home & Accessories on the fourth. A private selling room is also located on each floor and there is one VIP salon.

It also states they will experiment with the new store’s floor to ceiling atrium through “periodic installations and exclusive partnerships. The unique expansive space will lure the eye upwards, encouraging customers to explore all four floors and allowing them to interact with the world of Tiffany in ways that differ from the traditional store format.”
