Beginning Monday July 23, three subway stations in Manhattan and Queens will be shut down for repairs.
On Monday beginning at 5am, the 3 train’s 145th Street station will close in both directions until November; the F and M train’s 23rd street station will close until December; and the 104th Street station on the J and Z line will close on the Jamaica Center-bound side until January 2019.
These closures are just a few more in the ever growing list of renovations taken on by the MTA this year including the N line’s Coney Island bound platforms at 18 Avenue, 20 Avenue, Kings Highway, Avenue U, 86 Street, Fort Hamilton Pkwy and New Utrecht Avenue that will be closed for the remainder of the summer.
The renovations are part of the city’s plan to bring the subway system into the 21st century with much needed upgrades to the infrastructure.
