A little-known piece of New York real estate hit the market this week, a beautiful cape-cod style cottage hidden on the roof of an NYC apartment building. But, If you wanted to buy it you’d have to shell out a cool $3.5 million.

Wherever you go in the city it seems like just above your head is a secret to be discovered. The tops of our buildings aren’t only home to a ton of rooftop bars and secret gardens, this week we learned about a beautiful Cape Cod style cottage hidden away on an East Village rooftop.

It’d be easy to miss if you didn’t know it was there. The penthouse cottage is at 72 East 1st Street and has been on the market a couple of days, and even with an asking price of $3.5 million, according to a report by Harpers Bazaar, the listing broker already has already been approached by 30 interested parties to check the place out.
