Oat milk is having a major moment right now, and Whipped Urban Dessert Lab saw it coming.
Whipped Urban Dessert Lab is a Boston-based cake shop that’s making their way to New York City, but they’re only bringing their popular oat milk soft serve with them. The award winning company is a minority and woman-owned brand that creates innovative desserts using natural ingredients and no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives and they’ll soon be able to add “world first oat milk ice cream shop” to that bio.
Their new Williamsburg location is expected to open sometime this summer as a unique concept featuring artisanal plant-based soft serve. Whipped Urban Dessert Lab’s Brooklyn shop will feature a menu with rotating oat milk ice cream flavors in addition to their Signature Vanilla Sweet Creme. The ice cream bases will be completely vegan (dairy free and egg free) in addition to being nut free, soy free, and gluten free. Is it safe to add guilt-free to that list, too?
Once you choose a base you’ll be able to add Natural Sauces (which are also dairy free, egg free, and gluten free): chocolate, peanut butter, coffee, strawberry, and mint chocolate; and then select your Natural Crumb Coats (which are dairy and egg free): pretzels, waffle cone, strawberry crumble, chocolate cookies, salted pecan, and coconut. The ice cream shop will also offer a handful of Hand-Selected Fusions which each feature their signature vanilla creme base but coated with different combinations of toppings. We have our eye on the Coffee Waffle Crunch (with waffle cone pieces and coffee sauce) and the Mint Chocolate Cookie (with chocolate cookies and the mint chocolate sauce).
An exact address and opening date has yet to be released, but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for it!
