Dining in Midtown just received a major revamp.
Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group has reimagined The View, a rotating restaurant nestled in one of NYC’s beloved hotels, New York Marriott Marquis, which was previously closed. It reopened — just in time for Valentine’s Day dinners — on February 12th. Reservations are currently open on the restaurant’s website.
“The View’s mission is simple: to capture the lively energy of Broadway’s Theater District showcasing a familiar American menu whose dishes are even better than you ever knew they could be,” says USHG Founder and Executive Chairman, Danny Meyer. “It’s your new ‘night out on the town’ where the floor just happens to rotate.”
When visitors make their way to the 48th floor, they’ll be able to enjoy a 20-seat bar and lounge with a full-service bar, raw bar, and small plates. Once they make their way one floor below via a cool spiral staircase, they’ll be able to grab a seat at the full-service restaurant and take in nightly live music.
Taking inspiration from American supper clubs, the menu offers classic dishes such as: tuna carpaccio with finger lime and wild arugula, jumbo lump blue crab cake with spicy remoulade, lamb chops and picanha, and seared duck breast with glazed turnips and dates. For dessert, diners can choose options like a jubilee sundae with stracciatella ice cream and brownie bites and an oldie but a goodie: classic New York cheesecake with vanilla Schlag and raspberry sauce.
“In so many ways, The View feels like the perfect culmination of my past experiences. A more grown up and elevated expression of the food I’ve always gravitated towards cooking,” says Executive Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley. “These dishes strike that perfect balance of honoring American classics, without remaining stagnant or being unnecessarily overwrought.”
