We hope all New Yorkers are staying cozy and warm amidst this prevalent storm!
In the latest updates, the city’s travel ban was officially lifted earlier this afternoon, but officials are urging residents to remain cautious as hazardous conditions persist across the five boroughs.
Although roadways have reopened, icy surfaces and limited visibility continue to pose risks to drivers. “If you choose to drive, please exercise caution, travel slowly, and be mindful of others on the road,” the mayor said in a statement. Officials are still advising New Yorkers to stay indoors as much as possible while crews continue cleanup efforts.
The storm has already brought between 14 and 20 inches of snow, with most neighborhoods reporting totals between 16 and 19 inches. Forecasters expect an additional 1.5 to 2.3 inches before conditions fully clear.
Strong wind gusts reaching up to 55 miles per hour have compounded the impact, creating blowing snow and reduced visibility in some areas.
