Another one bites the dust: the annual glamorous Met Gala event has been postponed, “indefinitely.”
According to multiple reports, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour announced today (Monday, March 16) that the 2020 Met Gala, a fundraiser thrown every year for the museum that is known for its iconic red carpet style moments, has been postponed indefinitely.
“Due to the unavoidable and responsible decision by the Metropolitan Museum to close its doors, ‘About Time,’ and the opening night gala, will be postponed to a later date,” she wrote according to Page Six. “In the meantime, we will give you a preview of this extraordinary exhibition in our forthcoming May issue [of Vogue].”
The theme was “About Time,” so I guess we’ll all have to miss Billy Porter dressed as a ticking clock and other other iconic #fashun moments for now.
