Move over, Taylor Swift. “The Life of a Show Dog” is prancing into town, tails wagging, to keep it one hundred.
This comical play on the pop star’s latest album is another type of creative pursuit celebrating another type of love: man’s best friend. If you’re thinking about exhibit hopping this winter and can’t resist a cute canine companion, we’ll tell you everything you need to know.
Step inside “The Life of a Show Dog”
One of NYC’s hidden gems, the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog, is ringing in a milestone. To honor the 150-year anniversary of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the non-profit is giving pup parents and animal lovers a behind-the-scenes look at what the show entails and how it has evolved over time.
According to a statement from the museum, “From the chaos of the grooming area to the glory of the green carpet, “The Life of a Show Dog” celebrates 150 years of competition, camaraderie, and the unbreakable bond between humans and their dogs.”
It continues, “Drawn from the archives of Westminster, Madison Square Garden, and the AKC Museum of the Dog, this exhibition illuminates the people, dogs, and defining moments that shaped the show’s remarkable history.”
The exhibit might be one of hundreds throughout the city — and we certainly have our eye on two-for-one Must-See Week tickets — but we’re willing to go out on a limb and declare this adorable pup-focused feat the best in show.
For more information on the exhibit and an attraction all dog moms and dads will appreciate, head to the Museum of the Dog website.
