Foodies, rejoice. A brand new food festival is entering the villa.
The Great Nosh picnic is set to debut on Governors Island this summer, promising a “new kind of Jewish food and culture festival.”
The festival is being presented by The Jewish Food Society on June 22, 2025, and is set to bring together people of all backgrounds to enjoy art, live music, engaging cooking demos, and one-of-a-kind dish collaborations from thoughtfully paired chefs and restaurants.
“The Great Nosh is about joy, culture, and celebrating our city,” said Naama Shefi, founder of the Jewish Food Society and visionary behind The Great Nosh.
“At a time when the world feels increasingly lonely, we’re creating an experience that brings New Yorkers of all backgrounds together to highlight diverse Jewish flavors, stories, and traditions.”
What catches our eye for this brand new festival is the one-of-a-kind restaurant collaborations that will feature at the picnic.
Expect a menu of never-before-seen partnerships and a menu including black-and-white cookie cheesecake sandwiches, Middle Eastern-inspired wood-fired pizzas, “shnitz and chips”, and more. Check out the full list of collabs below:
- Thai Diner x Katz’s Deli
- Caroline Schiff x Junior’s
- Zahav x Dame
- Tatiana x Dickson’s Farmstead Meats
- Gertrude’s x Dhamaka
Other incredible experiences at this year’s festival include:

- A Wine Bar by The Four Horseman: Sip natural and seasonal wines at an open-air bar curated by Michelin-starred bar and restaurant The Four Horseman.
