After a sold-out 2025 debut, The Great Nosh, NYC’s one-day Jewish food and culture festival, is returning to Governors Island this summer–and pastrami tacos, challah Korean fried chicken sandwiches, and smoked salmon turnip cakes are on the menu.
On Sunday, June 21, nonprofit Jewish Food Society is bringing its massive picnic-style festival back to the Island–serving up another sun-soaked summer day of Jewish food culture, complete with live music, one-of-a-kind chef collaborations, hands-on arts and crafts, and plenty more delicious fun.
Consider this your official warning to arrive hungry and leave fully horizontal.

Beyond the Food: Music, Arts, and Cultural Programming
Though we New Yorkers love our food, that’s certainly not all the festival has to offer–attendees will also find additional interactive programming across the picnic grounds, including:
- The Grandmas Tent: live, storytelling-driven demos with inter-generational pairs of cooks, hosted by Emmy Award winning Top Chef host and judge Gail Simmons and James Beard Award winning TV host Pat Jinich
- Arts and crafts: Susan Alexandra’s beading workshop, a flower crown workshop with Mulberry Florals x Lady Bird Floral, and a painting studio created by The Jewish Museum
