New York is about to become home to the country’s largest Legoland, and you can already take a sneak peek!
Legoland New York released a video on their website several months ago that gives you a virtual tour of the amusement park. In the preview (which can be found toward the end of the article), you’re taken around the various sections of the park—from Heartlake City to Bricktopia (“the land with no rules, where you’ll find the weirdest and wackiest LEGOLAND creations”).
The park, which has been subject to much controversy since it’s announcement to build in the New York town Goshen, is expected to open in the spring of 2020. The 150-acre park will be open seasonally, from April through November, and feature:
- An immersive Legoland Hotel with 250 lego-themed rooms
- A Legoland Factory
- 50 rides
- Dragon “pink knuckle” roller coaster
- Legoland Driving School (teaching kids to ride a Lego-them car)
- Lego 4D Movie Theater
That said, new details about the NY-based park have recently emerged. Only 60 miles from the city, the Legoland theme park will have rides unique to this location as well as a Miniland that depicts NYC’s ever-changing skyline with new buildings you won’t find at other Legoland Parks.
The park has even brought on a handful of Kid Reporters between the ages of 6 and 12 (who will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 28), to ” tell the story of LEGOLAND New York as it prepares for its grand opening in spring 2020.” We can’t wait to see the park unfold through their perspective, but until then…take a preview tour of the park yourself!
