For their second year, LIC Pilates will be partnering with Hunter’s Point Parks Conservancy to offer New Yorkers free pilates classes this summer.
Beginning next week, everyone is invited to Hunter’s Point South Park for an open-level class with refreshing views of the city from across the East River. LIC Pilates in the Park will feature 45-minute classes by the water every Sunday in June in addition to Thursday June 6th and Thursday June 27th to help get New Yorkers summer ready without breaking the bank.
The free classes are lead by instructors who have worked with plenty of clients that range from athletes to people with physical injuries and even pre/post natal needs. That said, the sessions are based the Joseph Pilates mat repertoire—which develops core strength and flexibility through mat-based classes.
LIC Pilates Owner Adrianne Yurgosky wants to share with everyone that, “Pilates is not just a form of fitness; it’s a way of keeping in touch with your body, building strength and flexibility, and easing pain.” And these classes will help New Yorkers with all of the above!
Registration isn’t needed but anyone who would like to join should bring a mat and water along with “a positive attitude and a friend.”
