In celebration of the Super Bowl you may recall that Taco Bell and T-Mobile collaborated on “free taco Tuesdays” throughout February. Now, The duo is teaming up again, but this time to create a unique pop-up store they’re cleverly calling T-MoBell.
The new concept is the first co-branded store for both companies, and is intended to bring people the “ultimate experience” of smartphones and tacos. The collaboration is certainly interesting considering the biggest thing they have in common at first glance is that the end of their names sound similar; but alas, who can say no to free tacos and Freezes?
T-MoBell will be open from Tuesday, July 23 through Thursday, July 25 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in New York as well as in Los Angeles and Chicago. Over the course of the three days, the stores will be serving up free tacos and limited edition T-MoBell Freezes while supplies last in addition to co-branded merch like taco-themed socks. There will be an in-store DJ present and giveaways taking place daily where you can win a year of free tacos (by way of a $500 Taco Bell gift card) or “the latest smartphone swag” like Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earphones, among other miscellaneous items as well like a Taco Foam Hat. That said, they do want you to have your phone ready for all the photo opps you’ll come across and to catch some of their surprise special guests like The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood, who will be present at the Chicago store.
T-Mobile’s CEO, John Legere, explained that: “When we launched free tacos every week on T-Mobile Tuesdays, TacoBell.com had its highest online order day ever and T-Mobile Tuesdays was number one in the App Store. Since then, Un-carrier customers have snagged more than 14 million free tacos from the app! People love tacos. And they love their phones. T-MoBell is the ultimate fusion of those two loves, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve cooked up.”
The address to the pop-up hasn’t been released, but guessing by the rendering we think it’ll take over the 1535 Broadway T-Mobile location in Times Square but stay tuned for a confirmation or check their social media accounts as the day approaches.
