With the amount of light pollution clouding our view of the night sky, New York City doesn’t offer much of an opportunity for stargazing. However, a new time-lapse video shows us what you would see if the light pollution was gone.
Created by filmmakers Gavin Heffernan and Harun Mehmedinovic, the video is part their project Skyglow, to bring awareness to what the skies used to look like before so much light pollution became the norm.
The video was made in honor of the International Dark Sky Association’s Dark Sky Week which runs from April 15 untilApril 21.
