Lockdown is shaking up many things we thought would never change, and now you can add Peter Luger to that list.
The famous Brooklyn steakhouse, often reviewed as the “best” in NYC, is pivoting to offer something it never has throughout its 133-year history: delivery.
They just started offering a limited menu, including family selected, dry-aged in-house steaks and their half pound Luger Burger, for both pickup and delivery as reported by Eater. Right now it is available in Brooklyn and Queens, and will be in Manhattan within the week. You can also buy raw meat from their “Butcher Shop” for you to cook on your own.
You can order for pickup or delivery via Caviar or by calling (718) 387-7400. Pickup and delivery will be available from 11:45am – 8:45pm daily, based on limited availability, their website reads.
The steakhouse also made headlines for shaking up tradition again by taking online reservations in October. Previously you could only do so over the phone (though they were reportedly receiving up to 6,000 calls per day).
Though of course we wonder exactly how juicy the steaks will be once they travel via delivery person, it is one of the perfect New York ways to treat yourself!
