NYC’s third oldest steakhouse, Peter Luger, has finally decided to start taking online reservations!
Until now, if you wanted to make a reservation at the famous steakhouse you’d have to call in. While the task seems simple and painless, the restaurant was reportedly receiving about 6,000 per day for reservations! That translates to seriously long hold times on the phone.
The current owner of the 132-year-old restaurant, Daniel Turtel, told amNewYork: “We had been getting slight suggestions from people that it maybe took a little too long to make a reservation. We were increasingly aware that the wait time on the phone was not such a charming aspect.”
Although Peter Luger will now use an online system to cut down on calls, everything else will remain the same. It’ll still be a cash-only steakhouse serving up some of the best cuts of dry-aged meat.
Peter Luger’s Williamsburg location will be the only restaurant accepting online reservations through Resy. You can currently book a table up to a month and a half in advance.
