Staten Island man, Matt “Airistotle” Burns, was crowned world air guitar champion after winning the annual event in Oulu, northern Finland, on Friday.
Burns had this to say:
I dont get to say this often, but im really really proud of myself. U guys are unbelievable, luv u all #TeamStotle pic.twitter.com/jMXV8IRT2p

Burns, or Airistotle, was runner-up in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Last year he lost first place to the Russian competitor, Kereel “Your Daddy” Blumenkrants. He came back this year to narrowly beat the Russian 34,8 – 35,7.
Pardon? What IS an Air Guitar competition? Why, it’s a competition where contestants are judged on their ability to pretend to strum rock or heavy-metal electric solos. Still confused? Well take a look at the winning performance from our very own NYC world champion.
