Fans of the Marvel universe will likely soon be able to head to the Bronx to honor the man behind it all and real superhero, Stan Lee, with his own street name.
On Tuesday, July 23, the New York City Council approved the proposal to add “Stan Lee Way” as a co-name for a portion of University Avenue. The new name would highlight the streets between Brandt Place and West 176th Street in the Bronx.
The placement of this street name was carefully selected since Lee once lived at 1720 University Avenue, and attended his school at DeWitt Clinton High School. Stan Lee, who passed away last November, is a comic book and Marvel icon. While the city council has approved the name change, it will now be up to Mayor Bill de Blasio to officially sign off on it.
