June is here and the countdown to summer is on, and once again Times Square is celebrating the summer solstice in a pretty fabulous way–by offering New Yorkers free yoga at their 23rd Annual Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga.
For 20+ years, yogis have been welcoming the first day of summer by coming together to get down(ward dog) at Times Square’s all-day outdoor yoga event! The event brings thousands of yogis together to flow and contort their bodies in one of the busiest intersections in the world, making the neighborhood the most zen we’ve ever seen it.
Solstice in Times Square began 22 years ago on June 21st, 2003, when three people rolled out their mats smack dab in the middle Times Square to flow through some sunrise sun salutations. Two of them then went on to become the co-founders of the event, and they’ve been bring it back each June ever since.
This year, the event will take place on Friday, June 20th with seven free classes between sunrise and sunset!

2025 Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga schedule:

Each class is one hour-long and completely free, and yoga mats will be provided to registered attendees, so no need to bring your own. Classes will take place rain or shine, and attendees are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the class they’re scheduled for.
Can’t make it to Times Square that day? All classes will also be streamed live at TSQ.org/Solstice via YouTube and on the Times Square Facebook Page so that anyone can participate from home.
Beyond the yoga classes, yogis can also visit the Yoga Village between 43rd and 45th Streets, which will feature booths, giveaways, and activities. Registered participants who attend will receive a free yoga mat courtesy of Gaiam and gift bag from RYZE while supplies last.
