As the weather warms up New Yorkers begin to flock to all of NYC’s parks to thaw out from the winter and soak in the sunshine, and whether you like to get your heart pumping al fresco or lounging on a blanket in the grass with a spritz in hand is more your style, if you find yourself at Bryant Park we must say their amazing free yoga classes are worth attending!
Bryant Park just announced the return of their free al fresco yoga classes , with their 22nd season kicking off on Wednesday, May 28th! One of NYC’s largest and longest-running community fitness programs, the beloved summer activity started out as a series that ran from May until the end of August, though due to popular demand they began extending their classes into the month of September. And lucky for us that’s happening again this year!
Daniel Biederman, executive director of Bryant Park Corporation, stated:
We are always delighted to see the lawn filled with a yoga class. What started with just a small group of participants has grown into a community tradition, often attracting over a thousand participants per class.
The free, hour-long classes will feature more than 30 of the region’s top yoga instructors, giving participants the chance to explore a variety of styles with each visit. Classes will take place bi-weekly–Tuesdays at 10am on the Upper Terrace and Wednesday evenings on the lawn at 6pm. All classes are open to all ages and levels with registration required.
Mats are not provided, so participants are encouraged to bring their own (along with water) and arrive early to reserve their spot–and if you’ve walked past in previous or attended a class yourself, you know these classes fill up quickly, so don’t hesitate to reserve a spot in advance!
Plus, viral women’s athleisure brand Halara will be collaborating with Bryant Park for the first time as the presenting partner, enhancing select classes with branded giveaways designed to celebrate wellness, community, and connection. Jessica Thompson, Global Brand President stated:
At Halara, we believe movement should feel good and be accessible to everyone. Partnering with Bryant Park for this beloved series is a natural extension of our mission to support wellness and community in everyday life.
