After what feels like a lifetime, SNL will return to our screens this October, and the sketch comedy series is bringing plenty of our favorites along for the ride.
In just two week, the cast will unleash new antics, hosts, and musical guests upon us, and we can’t wait to see what’s about to unfold in Studio 8H.

SNL returns on October 4th — here’s what to expect
Coming off a highly-popular 50th anniversary, SNL is kicking off its 51st season with a few of music’s biggest stars, a familiar face, and unsurprisingly, Sabrina Carpenter double duty. (Move over, Timothée Chalamet.)
The schedule for the first three weeks of the series is as follows:
- Saturday, October 4th: Bad Bunny & Doja Cat
- Saturday, October 11th: Amy Poehler & Role Model
- Saturday, October 18th: Sabrina Carpenter (Double duty!)
The schedule beyond that is TBD, but we certainly think this is a fairly solid start.
How to get SNL tickets
Although the SNL ticket lottery closed at the end of August, there is still a way to score a coveted spot to the iconic show, but it’ll take some serious dedication.
SNL standby tickets will give you the access you’re dying for. Here’s how to get ’em:
- Visit the SNL standby ticket reservation link, which goes live on Thursdays at 10am ET the week of a show
- You can request up to four tickets — which are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis — for either the dress rehearsal or the Saturday-night show
- If you receive a confirmation email after several hours, your entire party must check in to the in-person standby line between 6-7pm at the W. 49th Street NBC Studios marquee on the Friday before show day.
- Photo I.D. is required to claim your standby tickets
- Reservations are non-transferable, so anyone in your party who’s not there will forfeit their spot.
- Find your numerically-assigned place in line outside 30 Rock and be patient — you could be waiting quite awhile.

SNL cast changes — who’s who on season 51
After a hectic shakeup, the SNL cast is in place, having parted ways with Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, and Michael Longfellow for season 51.
With the exit of some of our favorites comes newbies hoping to make their mark on NYC’s most iconic TV show: Ben Marshall, Tommy Brennan, Ashley Padilla, Jane Wickline, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska.
