Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of Singapore at this year’s Singapore Food Festival. Happening from now through September 15th, participating Singaporean and Singaporean-owned restaurants and bars across North America are working with Singapore Tourism Board Americas and Singapore Global Network to launch a digital food passport that could land you a free trip to the island!
Upon visiting one of the participating restaurants, be sure to scan the on-site QR code that will take you to the Passport landing page. From there, diners will be able to enter for the chance to be the lucky winner of a trip to the Lion City.
The winner will get a 4-day/3-night trip to Singapore with a travel companion of their choice. The vacation of a lifetime comes with complimentary round-trip economy air transportation, 3-night hotel accommodations, and a Sponsor-specified excursion or tour.
“We are excited to work with our partners and introduce foodies to the cultural influences of Singapore,” says Rachel Loh, Senior Vice President at Singapore Tourism Board, Americas. “We could not be more thrilled to have the festival back this year and include a Digital Food Passport and giveaway. With so many talented Singaporean chefs in North America, we hope this activation expands consumers’ palates and gives them a preview of what they could experience when they visit Singapore.”
More than 15 of the participating restaurants and bars are located in NYC, with a majority found in the fairly new Urban Hawker Center. New Yorkers will be able to explore the famous flavors and dishes of Singapore, like Hainanese chicken rice and chilli crab.
Eager foodies can sip on inventive off-menu drinks reminiscent of Singapore’s vivacious cocktail scene at Singlish for 15% off during the festival, or dine at the first Michelin-starred Singaporean restaurant in NYC, Laut. Explore all of the participating NYC establishments here.
The special collaborations will not only encourage New Yorker’s to begin or continue their unforgettable journey exploring various cuisines, but to spark interest in future travel to Singapore, and view such an adventure as something accessible to them.
Beyond NYC, the exciting event is happening across restaurants and bars in cities including San Francisco, Portland, and Kailua, among others.
