One of the best part of home made cookies is that glorious moment you can lick the leftover cookie dough off of the wooden spoon, FDA warnings be damned. If that tugs on those nostalgia strings in you, then you might be interested in the new eatery opening in Greenwich Village today.
DŌ, pronounced “dough”, produces cookie dough you can safely eat unbaked (the FDA warns against eating uncooked eggs and flour) thanks to pasteurized-egg product and heat-treated flour for a bacteria-free goopy treat.
The founder of DŌ, Kristen Tomlan, operated online from her headquarters on 2nd Avenue in NoHo, selling all sorts of proto-cookie goodness; dough scooped into cones, flattened and frozen into ice-cream “sanDOwiches,” half-baked into brownies, and mixed into ice cream for sundaes and milkshakes.
Today Tomlan launches her Greenwich Village location with 15 seats and a case full of prepacked cookie dough creations. Don’t miss out! Find the store here: 550 La Guardia Pl., nr. 3rd St.; 646-892-3600
