Shaver Hall, a sprawling new 35,000-square-foot dining and entertainment destination, has officially opened its doors inside the former Lord & Taylor flagship building on Fifth Avenue. And with 14 food concepts, multiple bars, live entertainment, late-night hours, and what may be the world’s largest cheese conveyor belt, it’s already much more than your average food hall.
The massive venue took over the street level of the historic 1914 landmark, now home to Amazon’s largest New York City office, transforming one of Manhattan’s most iconic addresses into a modern gathering place for food, drinks, music, and culture.
According to Jack Gibbons, CEO of FB Society, the award-winning hospitality group behind the project, the goal was to create a destination that combines “Michelin-starred talent, the nostalgia of a Brooklyn slice, and the social energy of a great cocktail bar under one roof.”
A Look Inside
At the heart of the hall is Pick & Cheese, a London-born concept making its U.S. debut in New York City.
Its main attraction? A staggering 200-foot cheese conveyor belt–the largest the brand has ever built–where guests can pull up a stool and watch plates of artisan cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments glide by. All cheeses are sourced from small-producer cheesemakers throughout the Northeast.
But that’s only one piece of the experience.
Altogether, Shaver Hall brings together 11 chef-driven eateries, three full-service restaurants, grab-and-go options, multiple bars, a self-pour drink wall, and extensive open seating throughout the space, making it easy to stop in for a quick lunch or settle in for an entire evening.

Rounding out the experience is a New York-style bodega stocked with grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options, coffee, snacks, pantry staples, beer, wine, and specialty products.
The space also features a self-pour drink wall where guests can sample rotating beers, wines, cocktails, and other beverages throughout the day.
For those looking to linger, Shaver Hall’s bars are designed to be destinations of their own, complete with happy hour specials, curated wine selections, cocktails on tap, and plenty of room to gather.
Beyond The Food
What sets Shaver Hall apart from many food halls is its focus on entertainment.
A dedicated stage hosts programming Wednesday through Sunday, including local musicians, DJs, sports watch parties, and cultural events inspired by the building’s long-standing connection to New York fashion, art, and culture.
The goal, according to the team behind the project, was to create an “18-hour district” where office workers, tourists, and locals can seamlessly move from breakfast and lunch to happy hour, dinner, and late-night drinks.
And unlike many Midtown destinations that empty out after the workday ends, Shaver Hall will stay open until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
