A guerrilla ad campaign popped up around the city yesterday bashing the presidential hopeful, Donald Trump. The bizarre posters appeared on several city bus shelters: 61st and Broadway (in front of the Trump International Hotel), 5th Avenue and 23rd Street, West Houston and LaGuardia Place, 23rd Street and 7th Avenue, and 34th Street and 9th Avenue.
There are five images in total (see them attached below), each based on a famous fictional story: Dr. Strangelove, Dumb & Dumber, Humpty Dumpty, Thelma & Louise and The Shining.
The campaign creators, Alex Reinoso, Alessandro Echevarria, and Nick Elliott, told adweek:
“The idea basically came out of the fact that life with Trump running for president has become stranger than fiction,” Elliott tells AdFreak. “So we wondered what would happen if we literally mashed up Trump and the election with well-loved fictional stories. … These are, of course, cautionary tales.”
In all likelihood the posters won’t be around for long, so go and check them out while you can!
