New York-based photographer Stephan Wilkes has captured the passage of time in a single photograph for his “Day to Night” photo series. It uncovers the many subtle changes that in NYC as it transitions from day to night.
Although it sounds relatively easy, in fact each photo took upwards of 15 hours to complete. Wilkes would take hundreds of photos of the cities most iconic locations then spent 4 months picking out 30 to 50 best ones. The chosen images were then blended into one composite image that seamlessly transitions between sunrise and sunset.
