SAINT, a bi-level restaurant with a lower level speakeasy SAINT Downstairs, is the East Village’s newest hot spot.
This new chic spot is comprised of multiple sections. From their front dining area with plenty of natural light and hanging crystal chandeliers to a back dining room that opens up to a gorgeous outdoor garden filled with lush greenery and hanging vines, there’s seating for any mood.
They even have a semi closed-off gorgeous green velvet booth in an area that they call “The Ivy,” which is reserved for intimate semi-private gatherings.
Offering new American cuisine, the menu features upscale dishes inspired by Chef Nicholas Cox’s Southern roots alongside the melting pot of cuisines that make up East Village.
Menu highlights include a raw bar complete with oysters and caviar, small plates such as their Heirloom Tomato Carpaccio, and larger dishes including Blackened Sea Bass served with bagna càuda and cracked gordal olives as well as Spinach Campanelle, a vegan pasta dish with vertage cheese, rosemary pangrattata, basil, mint, and seared royal trumpet and oyster mushrooms.
A brunch menu can also be enjoyed on Saturdays and Sundays from 11a.m. – 4p.m. It’s filled with all your favorite brunch cocktail suspects and tasty dishes like Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Steak and Eggs, and Bacon Egg and Cheese Empanadas.
After dinner, head downstairs to SAINT Downstairs, SAINT’s subterranean Speakeasy.
A candle-lit runway leads you to their Prohibition-inspired speakeasy, an intimate oasis complete with dripping candles and exposed brick.
Here you can order their Gins N’ Roses, a deliciously refreshing combination of Hendrick’s, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, rose mint, and lime, or the Swan Song, made with Stoli Elit, Carpano Botanic Bitter, grapefruit cordial, lemon juice, and peychaud’s bitters served in a swan-shaped glass.
On select nights, SAINT Downstairs will offer DJ Sets tucked away in their hidden back lounge so you can dance the night away under a glittering disco ball.
You can find SAINT at 136 2nd Ave. It’s open Wednesday-Thursday 5p.m. – 1a.m., Friday-Saturday 5p.m. – 2a.m., and Saturday-Sunday 11a.m. – 4p.m. for brunch.
SAINT Downstairs will be open Thursday through Saturday 9p.m. – 2a.m.
