If you’ve never had a chance to take a photo in one of the UK’s signature red telephone booths before, you can now do it right here in NYC – for one week only! Not only are these great photo ops, but they’re also your opportunity to gain access to tons of fantastic happenings from cooking classes to intimate concerts.
Beginning Tuesday, March 1, a life-sized red telephone booth will pop up in a different iconic NYC location each day – and if you stop by and answer the call, you’ll have a chance to win tickets to some incredible pop-up events.
Psst: Today (3/1) you can find it at the Meatpacking/Gansevoort Pedestrian Plaza, on 14th St. & 9th Ave.
It’s all part of a new effort from The United Kingdom called the “GREAT Calling,” aimed at immersing Americans in authentic British experiences, and shifting perceptions of the UK’s culture from traditional and predictable.
You can find the telephone booth at these spots from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day:
- Tuesday, 3/1 (today!): Meatpacking/Gansevoort Pedestrian Plaza, 14th St. & 9th Ave.
- Thursday, 3/3: Pulitzer Fountain, 5th Ave between 58th & 59th St.
- Friday, 3/4: Astor Place, Between Lafayette & Cooper Sq.
- Saturday, 3/5: Brooklyn Bridge Park, Dock St.
When you hear the phone ringing, make sure you answer with “I want to see things differently,” and you can win tickets to one of the awesome happenings taking place to celebrate British culture.
The pop-up events include: a live cookalong with Nadiya Hussain from The Great British Baking Show (Thursday, March 3); the World’s “First AI Banquet” with iconic British figures from William Shakespeare to Agatha Christie (Wednesday, March 9); a soccer matchday experience in NY for the Manchester United F.C. vs. Tottenham Hotspur F.C. (Saturday, March 12); and a series of intimate concert gigs from upcoming British artists (through the entire month).
You don’t want to miss these events (or this moment for your IG feed)! Find out more at GreatCampaign.com.
