Sure it may be raining, but we know just what will raise your spirits–Halal food vendors! Food is the way to the hart after all, isn’t it? And you’re in luck because tonight, Wednesday, April 3rd, Astoria will host its first ever Ramadan Night Market!
Put on by Malikah, an Astoria-based grassroots anti-violence and wellness organization that advocates against gender-based violence and hate crimes through self-defense training and community programming, the food-focused event is happening less than a week before Eid commemorates the end of the holy month.
Halal food vendors will come together on Steinway Street in the heart of Little Egypt (between 25th and 28th Avenue) to showcase diverse and delicious offerings and delights from the community.
Vendor highlights include:
- Mars Bake Shop
- Small Batch Co.
- Modern Modesty
- Karachi Kabab Boiz
- Ibiza Juice Bar
Ramadan Night Market starts at 9 pm and will run until 1 am.
The event is free to attend but is being held as a fundraiser for Malikah to keep women and girls safe by bringing them self defense workshops, keeping their safety center open, and bringing more programming to Queens.
