Curious where New Yorkers are most likely to find love? A new study did a deep dive into matters of the heart, so perhaps it’s time to adjust your approach to romance?
While we’ve unfortunately been named the worst city for dating, do not channel Carrie Bradshaw and get discouraged by less-than-stellar superlatives. You might find your soulmate where you least expect it. And if all else fails, we have all the intel on great solo dates. (WE KID!)
Where New Yorkers will find love, according to a new study
Jewelers Shane Co. set its sights on the good ‘ol U.S.A for its study and polled 2,006 Americans on the methods in which they took to find a partner. They took things a step further and explored how said method affects their relationship. When conducting the findings, here are the most common ways singles found love:
- Mutual friends 14%
- At work 13%
- Social media 12%
- At school 9%
- Dating apps 8%
New York took home the silver medal and found their partners while at the office, so if you’re taking advantage of work-from-home policies, nix that method!
According to the company’s press release: “Spending hours collaborating and problem-solving naturally fosters deeper connections — and for 13% of Americans, it’s led to lasting love. For men, the workplace actually takes the top spot, with 15% finding their partner there, a trend especially prominent among those 65 and older, who met their partners before dating apps reshaped the landscape. Perhaps this new factoid is the reason for our abysmal placement on this list of the hardest working states!
