On Monday, August 19, a video went viral showing two men stealing a sweet dog from outside of a bodega in Williamsburg. Days later, the 10-year old pup (because they’re always pups in our eyes) has been reunited with his owner.
Theo, the sweet Border-Terrier mix, was left on a leash outside of the bodega on the corner of Flushing Avenue and Humboldt Street, Green Corner Fish and Farmers Market. It was when owner Bre Kelly walked back out that she noticed only the leash was there but the dog was missing. Surveillance videos were then pulled and show one man watching for onlookers as the other snatches up the pooch and continues walking.
Thankfully, the dog has been returned to his owner only a few days following the incident. According to the New York Post, Kelly received a called from a woman on Wednesday morning wanting to return the dog. She met with the woman that evening and was able to take Theo home. While no name has been released for the woman who brought Theo in, the NYPD has said the investigation is still ongoing but Bre Kelly is just happy to have her Theo back!
