Histórico do Museu de Artes e Design
Criado em 1956 por Aileen Osborn Webb, uma visionária e filantropa, o Museum of Arts and Design tinha como objetivo inicial reconhecer e defender a genialidade e o trabalho dos artistas americanos modernos. De 1963 a 1987, o museu desafiou as hierarquias artísticas ao apresentar exposições dinâmicas que destacavam as tendências sociais em evolução, os materiais do cotidiano e a cultura popular.
