Tony Luke’s may have started in South Philadelphia, but it’s ventured far and wide since. With locations across the country, the popular sandwich shop is making its way to New York…and they’re coming in hot!
In a recent Facebook post, Tony Luke’s announced they’d be opening one shop in each of the five boroughs, one in Long Island, and another in Yonkers. All seven branches of the franchise will be owned by the Assaedi family. While they won’t all open at once, the first of the lot is slated to open this spring in Brooklyn.
The downtown Brooklyn cheesesteak shop will be located between Nevins and Fulton Streets at 6 Flatbush Avenue. According to a report by Eater that Tony Luke’s shared on their page, the restaurant will open in late March. The VP of operations for MBB Management, David Sachs, also told Eater that the NYC shops will be similar to their other stores “but the menus may have less options due to tighter restaurant space.”
Tony Luke’s is known for their roast pork Italian, chicken cutlet, beef and chicken cheesesteaks, and other comfort foods like hamburgers and seasoned fries.
