After raising more than $4 million, the popular chain restaurant, Zooba will be opening a location in Nolita.
According to a recent press release, popular Egyptian restaurant Zooba will be opening their first location in the United States in New York this summer. The first Zooba branch opened in Egypt in 2012 and has since expanded to 6 locations across the country. Before making the move to the U.S. market, it is rumored that they will also be opening other international locations across the Middle East. Zooba claims to be the “first restaurant concept that was 100% homegrown in Egypt to be imported to the United States.”
On the menu at Zooba will be both traditional Egyptian cuisine and new Egyptian inspired dishes with a twist. One of the most popular items on their menu is their Egyptian take on falafel known as ta ameya. This filling treat is made with fava beans instead of traditional chickpeas. Zooba prides itself on only using healthy ingredients as each menu option is free of any additives, preservatives or colorants.
It looks and sounds delicious to us. We can’t wait to check it out!
