Belse Plant Cuisine, a gourmet vegan restaurant, brewery, and bar, recently opened its doors in NYC on Tuesday, June 14, and it’s taking the plant-based culinary world by storm.
This 11,000+ square-foot spot features upscale vegan cuisine on separate lunch, dinner, late-night, and weekend brunch menus, as well as craft beers made daily at its on-site brewery. There is a full-service bar with Belse signature wines, an extensive drink menu, and a large selection of spirit-free drinks.
Led by renowned vegan executive chef Anthony Spino, who is known for his plant-based adaptations of Italian classics, the restaurant features seasonal menus comprised of plant-based steaks, gourmet pastas, artisan pizzas, vegetable dishes, and, of course, the classics.
Among several main dishes you’ll find Verde Cauliflower Steak, a cauliflower steak served with verde sauce, roasted corn succotash, and butternut squash puree. Their late-night food menu features everything from Sesame Sriracha Nuts to Pan Seared Brussels, and their brunch menu has all your favorites like Banana Pancakes, Chicken and Waffles, and tasty brunch cocktails.
“Our restaurant and brewery is unlike anything else in the world,” said Spino. “It’s a state-of-the-art brewery with elevated plant-based cuisine in the heart of the largest population center in the country and the greatest city in the world. The menu is region agnostic, as we all just want incredible food, made from the best ingredients, in a beautiful setting.”
Head to the brewery to enjoy a rotating in-house line of drafts at the only 3-vessel German brew house in Manhattan. Led by head brewer Ryan Gillette, the brewery will start out by serving up a pale lager, hefeweizen, and blackberry ale. There will also be an extensive selection of fine wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Even though Belse is new to New York City, the owners are no strangers to the plant-based culinary world—they’re also the ones behind L.A. based restaurant Little Pine which is the #1 ranked Los Angeles vegan restaurant out of nearly 500 restaurants on Happy Cow, top ranked on VegOut, and ‘Restaurant of the Year’ according to VegNews.
Belse was designed to create a simple, modern, fresh space that reflected the location and history of the building as well as the ethos of Belse, and guests are invited to feel welcomed, relaxed, and happy throughout the entire experience.
Belse is located at 265 Bowery. The restaurant will be open Monday-Friday 11a.m. – 1a.m. and Saturday-Sunday 10a.m. – 1a.m. Brunch is served Saturday-Sunday from 10a.m. – 3p.m.
