Feeling extraterrestrial? New York’s town of Pine Bush will be the coolest place in the galaxy this summer as the annual Pine Bush UFO Fair is set to make its return this June on Saturday, June 1st.
Now in its 13th year, the fair allows visitors to step into the cosmos as cosplay characters and extra-terrestrials of all shapes and sizes take over the town’s Main Street.
Beyond the unidentified other-worldly beings, the fair will also have games and activities and vendors selling food and unique and eclectic craft vendors selling, of course, UFO-themed novelties.
Visitors are encouraged to attend in costume if they are comfortable doing so! From shimmering tentacles to iridescent scales to even a cosplay of your favorite sci-fi character, all costumes are welcome and invited to participate in the Alien Runway Parade!
And be prepared: there will be Best In Galaxy Costume Contests with prizes–there’s even an animals and toddlers division!
Domanie Ragni, Director of Community Services for the Town of Crawford who presents the annual fair, stated:
This is one of the only festivals where people join in and take part themselves. Everyone is welcome to join in, or just come to see those who do. But those who dress up seem to have the most fun. Families even come in group costumes!
According to I Love NY, event organizers each year welcome more and more visitors from different countries around the world. Visitors from Norway, Great Britain, and Argentina have become regulars!
Who knows–you may even catch sight of a real UFO at the fair. Pine Bush is, after all, the UFO Capital of the East Coast!
According to legends the town’s residents have been witnessing strange events, such as seeing unidentified airborne objects, since the early 1900s. And the Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum writes that there have been “easily close to 3,000” estimated UFO sightings since the ’90s!
