Those looking to immerse themselves in thought-provoking photography need to clear their June schedules as Photoville 2024 will be making its return, once again to all five of NYC’s boroughs.
This year’s 13th consecutive iteration of the free photography festival returns with an air of nostalgia, featuring over 85 open-air public art exhibitions, inspirational walking tours, in-depth panels, and interactive workshops.
The pièce de résistance, however, are their classic shipping-container-turned-photo-galleries!
The event opens at their usual home at Brooklyn Bridge Park in DUMBO on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.
Visitors attending opening weekend will get to experience in-person activities, curated tours, workshops, evening programming, and of course lots and lots of photo exhibitions.
And similar to last year, they’ll one again be expanding this year as well!
In addition to Brooklyn Bridge Park, a selection of exhibits will also be shown in outdoor spaces throughout Manhattan, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island as well. A detailed map of all festival locations can be found here.
Exhibits located throughout the boroughs will be on view daily during daylight hours, and are open whenever the park or space is open to the public.
A number of exhibits will also be on display throughout the entirety of the summer in all 5 boroughs. More information regarding which ones will be posted soon.
The full opening weekend schedule can be found here, and more information on the exhibits can be found here.
P.S. be sure to check out Smorgasburg if you get hungry, which will once again be providing visitors with all the tastiest food and drink options as you peruse Photoville!
