NYC’s annual Persian Parade coincides with the beginning of Persian (Iranian) New Year. It has served as a “joyful celebration of renewal and rebirth” for Iranian culture since 2004.
It’s meant to celebrate the rich Persian culture present in New York City, in addition to promoting and introducing those who are unfamiliar with Iranian culture to its folklore, science, art and more. Both the American and the ancient (Persian) Iranian flags fly at this event.
“We strive to demonstrate the Iranian tradition of tolerance for the ethnic, religious and cultural differences among people as well as to express the will of the Iranian community to live in peace, unity and harmony with all.”
