An Only Murders In The Building escape room has opened in New York, so now is the time to ensure that your sleuthing skills are up to snuff with Mabel, Charles, and Oliver’s standards.
What better way to welcome season 4 of Hulu’s comedic murder-mystery series? The latest adventure, which premiered on August 27th, finds our unlikely Upper West Side trio Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) in a cross-country trek from New York to Los Angeles to transform their true-crime podcast into a movie. The escape room follows a similar lead.
This hour-long experience, the brainchild of the streaming platform and The Escape Game, asks participants to help our beloved sleuths save their film project. After the reel of their movie goes missing, it’s up to you to use your instincts on the faux movie set to unlock clues, solve puzzles, and ultimately, get the reel back into the right hands.
Along the way, expect features like hidden bookcase doorways, secret passages, and other mysterious setups that will make you feel as though you’re right alongside the gang at the Arconia. If you look close enough, perhaps you’ll even find a few of the show’s Easter eggs hidden throughout the attraction. But if you’re still not caught up on season 4, not to worry: there aren’t any spoilers.
This new immersive experience opened on August 30 and is expected to remain in the space until October 2025, though a specific date has yet to be confirmed.
Even better? One of the best things to do in New York City will also make a West Coast pitstop, just like Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. Beginning September 7, Californians can also join the adventure.
Will you come out of the mission successful? We’ll cross our fingers!
