With MetroCards starting to be one foot out the door already, it’s nearly about the time OMNY completes its full takeover.
With the impending end to MetroCard sales at the end of 2025, many New Yorkers may be wondering how to get their hands on the highly-talked about OMNY Card.
Can I get a physical OMNY card still like my MetroCard? Do I have to get one in-person? These are just some of the maybe hundreds of questions that may be running through your head.
Well, to make purchasing an OMNY card easier before the switchover, a very helpful OMNY map is here to help steer you in the right direction to purchase.
Let’s start with a friendly reminder that New Yorkers can buy physical OMNY cards ONLY at subway stations (and not online).
OMNY vending machines are located at 472 subway stations in NYC, spanning all five boroughs.
At these machines, you can purchase new OMNY cards as well as reload funds onto your existing OMNY card. Keep in mind there is a $1 fee for new cards.

Cards are available to purchase at participating MTA retailers around the city, including Walgreens, CVS, 7-Eleven, CFSC Check Cashing, Payomatic stores, as well as many bodegas and independent pharmacies.
