The World Trade Center Oculus Plaza is getting an open-air food festival this weekend, and we’re excited to check it out!

When you step into the Lower Manhattan area as of today, November 8, you will be entering a block party that will last until this Saturday, November 10. From noon until 7 p.m. over the course of the three days , Smorgasburg will be open with 20 vendors, along with a beer garden, music, and various activities for guests.

This community party event is a collaboration between the food market and Port Authority to further integrate the area into the surrounding community. In their press release Port Authority said this is part of their “ongoing initiatives to transform the World Trade Center into a dynamic space in Lower Manhattan.”

Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton added: “We are deeply committed to ensuring that the World Trade Center serves as a place of remembrance, but also as a welcoming, dynamic hub for creative, cultural and community activities for the Lower Manhattan community.”

The Smorgasburg vendors expected to participate include: Bona Bona Ice Cream; Burger Supreme; Ca’pisci; Chef Katsu; Chickpea & Olive; The Choripan; D’Abruzzo; Dan & John’s Wings; Dough; Home Frite; Jianbing; Mutz; Rai Rai Ken; Ramen Burger; Red Hook Lobster Pound; Ring Ding Bar; Sons of Thunder; Wood Fired Edibles and Yakitori Tatsu.
