Creamsicle, peanut butter yuzu, strawberry and cream, grapefruit-chamomile, pomegranate-tahini, banana-graham; these aren’t your average donuts. World-renowned chef Wylie Dufresne is bringing his genius to the everyday donut this week.
Michelin star Chef, Wylie Dufresne, became a superstar at the LES restaurant, wd~50. After 11 years of wowing the crowds at wd~50 with his own brand off molecular gastronomy, then another 2 at Alder, the food world has been waiting with eager anticipation of what the modernist chef had in store. Now we know… it’s a donut shop.
Du’s Donuts and Coffee is opening today (Wednesday, April 26th) at 107 N 12th St, Brooklyn, next to Williamsburg’s William Vale Hotel. The project is a collaboration between Dufresne and pastry chef Colin Kull. The dynamic duo have taken weeks in preparing and experimenting with flavors to make doughnuts so perfect, they could have been ripped out of a cartoon.
Apart from a world class donut, Du’s will be serving Brooklyn Roasting Company coffee and later expand the menu to include egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. Instagram at the ready, NYC, We’ll see you there!
