Forget rushing into the nearest bodega before catching your train—your subway station might soon have a snack stop of its own.
The MTA is rolling out vending machines across 26 stations, bringing drinks, snacks, and other everyday essentials to former retail spaces throughout the system.

Don’t expect a full bodega underground (at least not yet), but these new subway vending machines are designed to handle those little commuter emergencies—like realizing you forgot a drink halfway through your morning commute.
Riders can grab quick essentials like chips, snacks, cold beverages, and specialty options like protein shakes.
And the MTA is leaving the door open for even more additions down the line.
Future offerings could expand beyond food and drinks to include everyday convenience items like tech accessories, health and beauty products, and other last-minute essentials.
The convenience comes with a very NYC convenience-store-style price tag. Snacks and food items are expected to cost around $3, while drinks can run up to about $4.50.
