The iconic New Year’s Eve Times Square ball drop is just a few days away and you can already feel the energy in NYC! Each year, the spectacular event draws a massive crowd (this year’s is expected to reach one million) from all over the word to the heart of Manhattan to ring in the new year together.
So before the day arrives, let’s understand where there will be access points and street closures in the surrounding area.
Pedestrian viewing areas access points
Viewing areas are open on a first come, first served basis so its important to get to Times Square early!
- 49th Street from 6th and 8th Avenues
- 52nd Street from 6th and 8th Avenues
- 56th Street from 6th and 8th Avenues
Times Square street closures
Initial street closures to vehicular traffic will begin at 4am on Sunday, December 31st. Additional streets will close down later in the day at 11am.
4am: 7th Avenue between 42nd and 48th Streets ; 6th & 8th Avenues between 43rd to 48th Streets
11am: 7th Avenue and Broadway between 38th and 59th Streets
