Only days before Christmas, one man found $10,000 on a 1 train subway platform and in the Christmas spirit, returned it.
Last Thursday, New Yorker Richard Taverna came across a blue Chanel purse at the Lincoln Center subway station. When he opened it for identification he found status of $100 bills in the bag! Luckily for the woman who lost it the purse fell into the right hands.
According to WABC, Taverna told them that he “picked it up to see if there was an identification so I could get it to the right person.”
Inside the bag was an envelope with one-hundred $100 bills in it. Upon bringing the purse to the police station it was discovered that the woman who lost the bag had filed a report at the same precinct and was leaving to Russia the very next day. Taverna went on to tell WABC, “It wasn’t mine. If someone lost $10,000, they’re probably going through a lot of distress.”
A true Christmas miracle for the woman who originally lost it.
