With the holidays quickly approaching, New York City has taken no hesitation in decorating for the season, yes, even before Thanksgiving has arrived!
New York City is the most magical place to be during the holidays. From seasonal markets, holiday windows, ice skating rinks, and gigantic winter displays the city truly comes to life during these months. Some decorations are already up for the season and here is a sneak peak!
Rockefeller Christmas Tree
This year’s Rockefeller Christmas Tree brought in from Oneonta has arrived this past weekend. The Norway Spruce is 75ft tall and is already towering over the plaza and 5th Avenue.
Saks Fifth Avenue
This luxury department store boasts a brilliant light show every year during the holidays and this season the show must go on! Lights and decorations have already been placed on the store’s facade.
Their festive window displays are set to be unveiled on Monday, Nov. 23!
The Shops At Columbus Circle
The 14-foot stars reappear at The Shops at Columbus Circle and they even dance! Starting at 4 p.m. each night the stars light up in synchronization with holiday music during the Holiday Under the Stars Show. These stars will illuminate until December 24.
If a ring is out of budget this season still stop by Cartier’s storefront located on 5th Avenue near 52nd St. to catch the iconic red bow and panthers that climb the building’s walls.
The Lotte Hotel
This hotel is a New York City staple for the holidays. Perfect for photo-ops, their grandly lit Christmas tree standing tall in their front plaza was set up earlier this week!
As much as New Yorkers dread holiday shopping at Macy’s, it is undeniable that this department store is one of the most magically decorated spots in NYC during the holiday season. From the enormous, glittering “Believe” sign to the wistful interior décor, Macy’s always gets the seasonal spirit just right!
Their holiday window display will be going up the earlier, tomorrow, Nov. 19!
Home to ARTECHOUSE, this market has set up a draping, fairy-lit entrance that is sure to enchant shoppers as they walk through.
Right across from The Plaza Hotel and east entrance to Central Park, this fountain in the Grand Army Plaza has made room for enormous, colorful glowing ornaments. The decorations are surrounded by brightly lit trees in a spectacular display of seasonal spirit!
Christmas Tree on 48th Street & 6th Avenue
While New Yorkers anxiously await the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, they can check out this already decorated tree nearby!
Grand Central Terminal
Grand Central Terminal will have their annual holiday fair virtually this year. Home to a plethora of iconic holiday movies, this transportation hub is embellished with garland, bows, and wreaths galore! Get there early enough before your train to enjoy the astonishing sights.
